National Museum of Dance // 30th Anniversary Video // Saratoga Springs Video Production
Similar to previous years, this summer I helped create a video for the annual Dance Museum gala, which will also be used for promotional purposes. This one was particularly special to be a part of because 2017 marks the 30th anniversary of the museum and to celebrate the milestone, the museum wanted to honor its founders, Marylou Whitney and Lewis A. Swyer. While putting the video together, it was interesting to learn more about the history of Saratoga as well as how the founders helped make the idea of the museum come to fruition.
It was also nice to create the video in a collaborative fashion where Lisa Schlansker Kolosek wrote the narration, Will Severin voiced and recorded the narration, and the museum staff provided the archival footage and photos (special thanks to Laura and Raul). I’d like to thank all of the original creators of the archival footage/photos that were provided, and here are the ones I’m aware of: Lawrence White Photography, Tom Sullivan Photography, Imagine Photography and Design, Silhouette Art on Video, WRGB CBS 6 News, and Our Town TV.
I look forward to seeing what’s ahead for the museum and wish it another great 30 years.
